Sonic Rumble Closed Beta Test Terms of Participation (required reading)

About these Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions for participation in the Closed Beta Test.

Duration

• *Duration is subject to change without notice. Thank you for your understanding.

• Closed Beta Test Registration Deadline: May 19, 2024 (sun ) 11:59 PM (PDT)
• Scheduled Closed Beta Test Period: May 24, 2024 (Fri) 5:00 PM to May 26, 2024 (Sun) 8:00 PM (PDT)

• *In order to assess multiplayer gameplay, the test will be conducted by separating play times into multiple time slots.

Eligibility

• Applications may only be submitted by residents of the United States who have read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions (Terms of Participation, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policy) and who are eligible to apply using the application method prescribed by SEGA Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”).
• Participants must be 13 years of age or older to participate in the Closed Beta Test.

How to apply

• Please fill in the required information on the application form. Limited to one application per person.
• Selected entrants will receive a notification based on the OS selected when applying, so if you select an OS that you do not use when applying, you will not be able to participate in the closed beta test.
• In the event that there are more applicants than needed, participants will be selected through a drawing. Please note that we do not provide individualized guidance on how the drawing is conducted.

Precautions when registering your email address

• Please make sure your email address is correct.
• If you have set up your spam filtering settings (domain name-based settings), please make sure that the domain “@sega.com” is allowed through to your inbox.
• The Company shall not be liable for any disadvantage incurred by an inability to receive or confirm the selection notification email due to reasons beyond the Company's control.

Users of iOS-based devices

• Register an address that can receive HTML email.
• Please note that you may not be able to properly receive the selection notification email via SMS/MMS. Be sure to register an email address that enables receipt of formats other than SMS/MMS.
  • *You cannot apply with an email address for SMS/MMS such as @softbank.ne.jp, ezweb.ne.jp, docomo.ne.jp, or similar.
• In addition to the Sonic Rumble app for the Closed Beta Test, you will also need to use the TestFlight application from Apple.
  For this reason, please adjust your settings to allow you to receive emails from “@email.apple.com” sent by “TestFlight.”

Users of Android-based devices

• Please register using the same Gmail address you use for Google Play.
  • *When applying for Android, you must use a Gmail address.

Announcement of selected entrants

• Please note that the selected entrants will be announced by email. *Entrants will not be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Only winners will be notified by email after the application period.
• The process for participating in the Closed Beta Test will be explained in the selection notification email.
• Do not share the download URL in the selection notification email with any third party.

About the Closed Beta Test

• All user data, acquired in-game currency, items, etc. during the Closed Beta Test will be deleted after the test ends.
  Nothing can be transferred over when the game officially launches.
• We appreciate your active cooperation in playing the Closed Beta Test and filling out the survey.
• The Closed Beta Test period and content are subject to change without notice.
• Paid items will not be available for purchase during the Closed Beta Test.
• Unanticipated problems with operation, display, etc. may occur during closed beta testing.
  Insofar as such is not in contravention of laws and regulations, the Company shall not provide compensation or indemnification for any malfunction or damage to hardware, etc.
  Participants participate in the Closed Beta Test at their own risk.
• Unscheduled maintenance may be performed without notice during the test period.
• Individualized support will not be provided for any problems that occur in the game during the test period.
• Game content during the Closed Beta Test may differ from that of the official release.
• If it is discovered that a Closed Beta Test applicant/participant has violated these Terms and Conditions or the Terms of Service, his/her application and participation shall be rendered null and void.
• You must use the email address and operating system you entered when applying for the Closed Beta Test, or you will not be able to participate in the test.
• We are not able to individually inform entrants of the results of the Closed Beta Test drawing. Please note that we do not provide individualized guidance on how the drawing is conducted.
• The right to participate in the Closed Beta Test is reserved for selected entrants and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
• When you participate in the Closed Beta Test, you will be asked to agree to a separate Terms of Service.

Precautions

• By applying for the Closed Beta Test, you agree to the Closed Beta Test Terms of Participation and Participation Agreement.
• The closed beta yest is conducted independently by the Company and has no relation whatsoever to Apple Inc. or Google Inc.
• Internet connection fees and communication fees incurred when applying for and participating in the Closed Beta Test shall be the responsibility of the participant.
• We will not respond to inquiries regarding the content of this game prior to its release, the official release date, etc. Thank you for your understanding.
• We may send you announcements regarding the game's launch via messages to your registered account.

Handling of personal information

• Information provided at the time of your application for the Closed Beta Test will be used only for the following purposes:
• Administration and execution of the Closed Beta Test
• Notifications concerning the Closed Beta Test and game release
• Improvement and analysis of the Sonic Rumble game
• Inquiry handling
• We will not disclose or provide your personal information to third parties other than subcontractors without your consent (except when such disclosure is required by law).
• Please refer to the Company's Privacy Policy for other information on how we handle your personal information.
